London Rail

Welcome to London Rail – the transport blog that’s for whomever doesn’t practice discrimination or indifference.

Transport covered includes rail, trams, narrow gauge, mountain lines, monorails, cable cars, buses, waterways etc. Not forgetting London underground!

Two posts that have been restored recently are Piccadilly Circus tube’s BSL (this is in relation to some work I am doing on accessibility – or that lack of it – on TfL’s rail routes) plus the Köln – Bonner Eisenbahn which was restored in regards to a discussion on Reddit about mixed use heavy rail/tramway systems. Other pages are restored from time to time in regards to queries or other discussions etc.

London Rail & future posts

This past three and half weeks have been spent writing articles and updates on the Llangollen canal breach at Whitchurch, Shropshire.

These significant updates were stopped from 21 January 2026. Other new posts have fallen considerably behind so things are back to front currently.

With the Bakerl0.0 articles and the Whitchurch/Llangollen canal breach series however, its possible future articles will be live blogged to an extent.

Its far too much work intensively researching/writing stuff no-one appreciates.

No doubt the occasionally historical feature/series will still be published. But from now on there will be a difference in how posts are published.

Even so London Rail wont ever have any adverts or other pesky stuff that hopes to squeeze a penny or more out of clicks/clickbait. If you the reader likes clicking on someone’s Youtube or blog and seeing their coffers flow with money, well you’re perfectly entitled to peruse that prestigious activity.

That even though I have disabilities and don’t even get a single penny from anyone…
