A short post on those exciting (or in the eyes of some, infernal) new autonomous driving vehicles seen about London. I reported that I’d seen my first one on 22nd April 2026, as described in this recent post. That one was LD73 PGS.
Quite a number of others have been sighted since – with both photographs and videos taken – two of those were filmed from a bus and these are shown below.
The Waymos seen so far:
LD73 PCW
LD73 PFM
LD73 PGS
LD73 PKG
LD73 PKL
Initially these were crewed with two people, but more recently they have had just one person.
Before we go on, it must be said London Rail is not in any way or form attempting to go better than the fantastic Youtube channel Auto Shenanigans – who have so far not managed to feature Waymos! To be fair they’ve covered at least two guided bus way systems whereas London Rail has covered none LOL!
Anyway, here are two videos I did of the Waymos from London’s No.6 bus. One must excuse the somewhat dappled bus windows!
Waymo at Marble Arch 23rd April 2026.
Waymo at Hyde Park Corner 7th May 2026.
I tried to keep a focus on the Waymo as it turned round the island and left into Grosvenor Place. It was too fast (or the bus was too slow perhaps). As the bus stopped to let passengers off I ran to the front and took a photo of the Waymo.

The Waymo sighted from the top of the bus as it ventured towards Grosvenor Place.
The Waymo sped into the distance however it was sighted all the way to Victoria where it was last seen going along Buckingham Gate. It probably was going to be trained on the exciting one way system past the Palace via Spur Road and Birdcage Walk! Or perhaps even a side trip down Buckingham Place where it would have been able to note the very location of a once famed autonomous front door from the sixties… And that because there are some who simply want to visit that location! Be seeing you!
